Each year, ASME International's Safety Engineering and Risk Analysis Division sponsors its Student Safety Design Contest. The contest is open to undergraduate and graduate engineering students, with the first place entries receiving $2,000 and second place entries receiving $500. The faculty advisors for the first and second place winners receive $500 and $200, respectively. More important is the prestige afforded the winners. Senior design projects are welcome as entries, whether an individual or a team did the project.
