Current Research

Angiogenesis in the peri-implant compartment as a function of implant surface topography.

Angiogenesis is a pivotal part of wound healing, which includes osteogenesis after implantation. The purpose of this project is to investigate the effect of implant surface topography on angiogenesis. My specific interest is to compare the difference of the effect on angiogenesis between dual acid etched (DAE) and machined surface. The preliminary result showed that DAE surface can obviously improve angiogenesis in terms of quantity and quality.
