Welcome!

I am a Ph.D. student at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto working with Prof. Brent Sleep.

A short bio

I graduated from the
Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, Greece. During my undergraduate thesis I worked on the "Mobility and distribution of Copper in greenhouse soils". In September 2005 I started my MASc under the supervision of Professor Brent E. Sleep. My research interests are on groundwater remediation and modelling. My master thesis focused on modeling of enhanced anaerobic bioremediation of chlorinated ethenes at Dense Non Aqueous Liquid (DNAPL) source zones. The aim of my study was to provide adequate simulation data for the interpretation of experimental results and to use the model to investigate the application of enhanced anaerobic dechlorination in the field. Currently, I am working towards a Ph.D. degree, with a broader interest on modeling of multiphase flow and transport and bioremediation of chlorinated ethenes, as well as on the effect of heterogeneity on these processes.
