Project
I graduated with a BSc in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Durham University (UK) and then undertook a Wellcome Trust funded CASE PhD in the Przyborski laboratory at Durham University. My PhD focused on how peptide motifs can be used to control cell fate. I currently hold an Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation post-doctoral fellowship aimed at using biomaterials to increase cell survival following transplantation. Current transplantation strategies are limited by poor cell survival. I am investigating how biomaterials can be used to promote cell survival in the central nervous system.
