University of Toronto Robotics Association

The University of Toronto Robotics Association is in the process of becoming an official University of Toronto recognized campus group to be sanctioned by Student Affairs and the Engineering Society. Membership to UTRA is open to all students, faculty and alumni of the U of T community.

Upcoming Events

  • The next meeting will be on Thursday, June 26 for a BUILDING SESSION to work on the pnuematics of the 30 lb robot.


  • Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of the Canada Day Long Weekend will be dedicated to getting the 30 lb robot up and running.


  • We a need a name for the new robot, email us with any creative ideas!

Please check this site and your email regularly (if you are on our mailing list) for information regarding our upcoming events and competitions.


  • Calculations to date have been compiled and are now available - utraCalc.zip. 


  • Our next Robot Riots competition is quickly approaching on July 5 and 6, 2003 to be held at Dundas Square in Toronto.


  • The Killer Ants Competition was held at the Ontario Science Centre on August 24 and 25.  UTRA competed with a robot named 'Twisted System' after its rapidly rotating shell.
